VALUES

As we look at the appalling incidence of child abuse, the level of corruption in government, and the apparent greed of big business on a national scale, we can easily shake our heads and wonder, "What is this country coming to?" These are the kinds of things that point to a breakdown in our national fabric and in the heritage of values, morals and ethics upon which this nation was founded.

Although there are distinctions between the three, "Values," "Morals," and "Ethics" are often used interchangeably. Since Values are the foundation of both Morals and Ethics, I will streamline things by referring to all three as simply "values" -- the fundamental beliefs or principals that guide us in determining what is right from wrong, what is just from unjust, and what is important in life.
